Licence agreement

Last updated 23 October 2026

This is the agreement between you and us for using the Zammoth app. Buying a licence is covered by the terms of sale.

What you may do

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Zammoth on any Macs you yourself use, for your own work, including commercial music production. During a trial, the same applies for the trial's length.

What you may not do

Except as the open-source licences below allow, you may not sell, rent, lend or redistribute Zammoth, or give other people the use of your licence or your account.

Open-source parts, and what they let you do

Zammoth is made of more than one program, and some of it is open source under its own licence. Nothing in this agreement limits what those licences let you do:

  • The brain - the program that runs the engineer and the analysis, inside the app at Contents/Resources/mixagent_daw_brain - is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3. Its complete source is published at github.com/stonecorestudio/zammoth-brain.
  • SoundTouch, the time-stretcher, is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1. It is a separate library in the app (Contents/Frameworks/libzammoth_soundtouch.dylib), and its licence, its complete source and how to build and use your own version are inside the app at Contents/Resources/Licenses/SoundTouch. You may modify Zammoth for your own use and reverse engineer it to the extent needed to debug such modifications, as that licence requires.

The other components and their licences are listed on the third-party notices page.

Ownership

Zammoth is licensed, not sold: we, and the authors of its components, keep the rights in it. Your projects and your music are yours.

When the licence ends

A licence that is refunded, or that ends at the end of a trial, stops the engineer; the rest of the app keeps working on your Mac. If you break this agreement, we may end your licence and your account.

No warranty

Zammoth is provided as it is. The warranty and liability terms of the terms of sale apply to this agreement too.
