Gate
Downward expander with hysteresis, hold and a range floor. The detector has its own high-pass and low-pass filters, which are not in the audio path. The display shows the detector level against the open and close thresholds, the attenuation, and four seconds of openings on the beat grid.

Parameters
Downward expander / noise gate.
| Parameter | Range | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Threshold | −80…0 dB | −40 |
| Ratio | 1–20 | 4 |
| Attack | 0.1–100 ms | 1 |
| Release | 5–2000 ms | 100 |
| Hold | 0–500 ms | 0 |
| Range (floor) | −80…0 dB | −80 |
| Hysteresis | 0–24 dB | 0 |
| Sidechain HP / LP (detector only) | 0–2000 Hz (0 = off) / 200–20,000 Hz (20 k = off) | off |
Controls and display
Surface (the key towers): a DETECT tower on the left shows the key level climbing a ladder — aqua below CLOSE, amber inside the hysteresis window, blue above OPEN — with the OPEN line and the dashed amber CLOSE line (threshold minus hysteresis) across it; an ATTEN tower on the right shows the attenuation descending in red from 0 dB with the range as its dashed floor. Between them: the OPEN / SHUT LED (lit while open, flashing brighter on every open, dark while shut), ATT · DB, DETECT · DB, OPENS (click the cell to reset; bypassing resets it), OPEN · DB / CLOSE · DB, LAST OPEN (how long the gate stayed open, ms), the RHYTHM ribbon (four seconds of opens on the song's beat grid, bar lines heavier — a gate that chatters or misses ghost notes shows as a pattern that does not line up) and the KEY ribbon (the track's spectrum with the SC HP / LP window lit; the rest is what the gate does not hear).
All nine knobs sit on the strip beneath. In the focus pane the TOWERS · TAPE chip switches the picture to the gate window: six seconds of the detector, lit where the gate is open and dark where it is shut, with the OPEN and CLOSE lines, the red attenuation trace and the range FLOOR — the same switch as view.gate_tape. Focus-pane drags: OPEN (the threshold) and CLOSE (drag down for more hysteresis) on the ladder or the tape, the HP / LP handles on the key ribbon (either end = OFF); double-click any of them for its default.
