Transient Shaper

Separate gain for the attack and the sustain of each detected onset. The display is one hit envelope: the attack portion and the tail are drawn at their current gain over a dashed outline of the unprocessed hit. Speed scales the timing.

The Transient Shaper's expanded view: one hit envelope with the attack portion raised by 2.2 dB, between an attack knob and a sustain knob.

Parameters

Attack and sustain, shaped independently — punch without a compressor.

ParameterRangeDefault
Attack±6 dB0
Sustain±6 dB0
Speed0.25×–4×1.0
Output±12 dB0

Controls and display

Surface: the hit is the display. Two big knobs, ATTACK on the left and SUSTAIN on the right, either side of one hit envelope: the amber lobe is the attack (it grows with the Attack gain), the blue tail is the sustain, the dashed outline is the untouched hit. The whole glyph and the HIT lamp above it flash on every detected onset. Speed and Output sit on a small row underneath.
