Limiter

Look-ahead brickwall limiter. The detector estimates inter-sample peaks, so the ceiling is in dBTP. The lookahead is reported as latency and compensated. On the master it also holds the integrated loudness target and shows short-term LUFS against it.

The Limiter's expanded view: a ceiling dial at −1 dBTP, six seconds of gain reduction, an output peak of −1.2 dB and a short-term loudness of −9.5 LUFS.

Controls and display

The detector estimates inter-sample (true) peaks, so the ceiling means dBTP, and the lookahead is the device's reported latency (compensated automatically). Style is currently set by the agent or API, not by a control on the face. Surface: the ceiling dial. The Ceiling knob sits in the centre of the face inside a bezel with a −6…−1 scale, and the gain reduction sweeps around it as a red arc with an amber max-hold tick and a 0 / 3 / 12 dB scale. Its value reads in the cell under the dial; double-click the knob to type a value.

A GR card on the left shows the red GR · DB numeral with MAX, the last 6 s of reduction, and an IN · DB bar with the ceiling notch; an OUT card on the right shows OUT · DB with its bar and notch and ST · LUFS with its bar against the LOUD target, with the Loudness (master only), Release, Lookahead and Link knobs under them. The dock box is the same three objects scaled to the box; a narrow focus pane puts those knobs on a strip along the bottom instead.

This is where the mix's LUFS numbers live.
